The
V&A Musuem of Childhood is a great little free museum in Bethnal Green in East London. There are all kinds of toys from the late 19th century through to the modern day as well as a small collection of clothing, furniture and other items relating to childhood from the last 100 years or so.
Late 19th/Early 20th Century mechanical/moving toys
Puppetry circa 1900-1920
Barbie first edition [1959]
Sindy through the ages (1960s and 1980s)
The tan-tastic 1970s Dusty doll
Fairytales and myths - Cinderalla and Puck
Terrifying...
If you get a chance I thoroughly recommend you visit the V&A Museum of Childhood, it's one of London's great quirkier museums.
